February 27th is International Polar Bear Day I recently learned so we decided to go to the zoo and give Ella her first chance to see a live one. Along with her cousins, we bundled up and made a day of it. It’s often hard to find additional activities during the winter to do with Ella so this was a nice option. Plus she just completed a unit at school about polar bears so the timing was perfect.
We started with an educational talk about polar bears which gave our whole family some insight on everything to know about polar bears. We got to hear from zoo keepers and someone who is actively doing research on them in the wild – pretty neat! After the talk, we were able to go see Juno, a baby polar bear – so cute!
Along with the polar bears who were of course the main attraction and our whole reason for coming in the first place, we were able to explore and see some more interesting animals. Ella loves animals and this trip to the zoo was so much fun for her. All in all a great outing with the family to get some fresh air and learn a thing or two along the way. We’re so lucky to be able to see such interesting animals at the zoo. What a fun filled day despite the chilly weather!

I never believed in love spells until I saw a post of a woman on the internet on how a great spell caster helped and get her boyfriend back because I was also looking for guidance on how to get my husband who abandoned me and the children for another woman. I believe you will understand me as a woman with kids who loved his man so much. Now we are back together happily after Priest Salami did some prayers for me. Omg I Finally Got Helped !! I’m so excited right now, I just have to share my testimony on this Forum.. The feeling of being loved takes away so much burden from our shoulders. I had all this but I made a big mistake when I cheated on my wife with another woman and my wife left me for over 4 months after she found out.. I was lonely, sad and devastated. Luckily I was directed to a very powerful spell caster Dr Emu who helped me cast a spell of reconciliation on our Relationship and he brought back my wife and now she loves me far more than ever.. I’m so happy with life now. Thank you so much Dr Emu, kindly Contact Dr Emu Today and get any kind of help you want.. Via Email emutemple@gmail.com or Call/WhatsApp cell number +2347012841542
My wish right now is that God should continue to bless Dr Emu for his good works towards the life of those people who are heart broken. My name is Michael DeBruin and I am from the USA, it’s been a while since my lover’s attitude changed from being the caring type she has been to me, but later turned out not to be caring at all. But not long, I later discovered that my lover was having an affair with someone else. and also she told me she doesn’t need me after all we pass through then a friend told me about a spell caster. that with the spell I will get back my woman, I took his cell number then called him and also what’s-app him which he reply to me and I did some sacrifices to the spell man and he bought the items for me which he used for the sacrifices and later called me that before 48 hours my love will come back to me and now we are more in love with each other than ever. you can reach him on WhatsApp +2347012841542 or reach him via mail ; emutemple@gmail.com , my lover returned back and broke up with the other guy she was having a relationship with… Thank you Dr Emu.
Lovely day well spent! The polar bear looks really adorable!
Yes – we wanted to see the baby ones before they got big!
OH we love the zoo all year round. This looks ace. Thanks for linking up to Share With Me. Sorry to be late commenting we have my mother visiting from America. 🙂 Thanks for joining in. #sharewithme
Hi Minh, education is key to helping all animals and not just endangered species to not become a thing of the past. Juno looks so cute in your picture and sadly has a better chance of survival in captivity.
Is the rather large snowball in the top left of the picture the Snowy owl, or are my eyes really past it?
xx
I know! We learned that many polar bears are found orphaned and would not have survived if left on their own.
As for the pic – yes you are correct, it’s a snowy owl – good eyes!
Oh my goodness at the baby polar bear.
I’m from the deep south where going to the zoo is summer is, literally, unbearable (no pun intended) hot. So we love to go in the winter. #whatevertheweather
How fun that would be. I love going to the zoo and seeing the animals. But sometimes I get a bit bored, so to hear all about the animals and learn about them from experts would be so cool! Especially from someone who is studying them in the wild! Love that! And Ella looks like she is having a blast! Priceless!
We really enjoyed watching her get excited about the experience.
Winter is just about the only time we can handle the zoo – it’s just too hot otherwise! Thanks for joining us at #FridayFrivolity and hope to see you again!
Aww that baby polar bear is so cute and great to see all the other animals too. I love visiting animals and even in winter it’s great to go to the zoo. She looks very happy! Thanks so much for linking up to #Whatevertheweather 🙂 x
Sounds like a lot of fun and reminds me that I need to schedule a trip with my kiddos soon. Thanks for sharing at Merry Monday!
Love polar bears. They have a special meaning for us as well as being cute and amazing.
The Oatmeal has a fun fact filled cartoon about them but probably not suitable for younger readers!

I love this idea. We actually went to the Central Park Zoo in November, technically not winter but still cold. I gave my son my phone to use as a camera. He actually got some interesting videos that we laugh about now.
June looks so cute! A trip to the Zoo is always a learning experience =)
Thanks for sharing!

oh this is a great idea, we dont get any snow but it will still be fun to go to the zoo with the kids especially because it will be less crowded thank you for sharing #waywow
It’s a definite benefit to go when it’s less crowded. Plus we get to see polar bears!
I love animals and if you want to make me happy take me to the zoo, farm or wherever they are. Summer or winter. Thank you for sharing your visit!
That’s my little one too – loves animals, insects and bugs so the zoo was a perfect excursion for her.
World Polar Bear day! What fun! Tweeted & Pinned to the practical mondays board:)
We went to the zoo today and visit often in the winter; our local zoo offers half priced admission and many of the animals are still out and about. Unfortunately for us we don’t have polar or panda bears; my boys would just LOVE it if they did since I have some major polar and panda bear fans!
Wish we had half price deals in the winter here. That was the only downside to the trip.
I always loved seeing the polar bears at the Detroit zoo when I was growing up. My kids loved the zoo no matter what time of year we went, and it looks like your littles had a great time!! stopping by from the #ManicMondayLinkUp
We also went to the zoo yesterday, it was sooooo cold!! Looks like you had a great day, lovely pics! #justanotherlinky
oh yes sooo cold – bundle up!
Looks like you had a great time!! That little polar bear is so darned cute!
