Top 3 Chemical-FREE Sunscreens for my little one!

We have been lucky to have really nice weather (finally) over the last week!  With the sun, I’m back on my routine to protect Ella’s skin as much as possible.  There is nothing like the softness of baby skin so I try to do what I can to protect it from sun damage.

When Ella was less than a year old, I started to do my research on sunscreens with a few objectives in mind.

1. Safe and chemical free

2. water resistant (as we are in our pool a lot)

2. the right SPF factor (which I found was between 25-35 SPF for the regular amount of time we were out in the sun)

3. ensure insignificant exposure to phthalates and parabens (more…)

For My Little Princess – A Personalized Gift

As we decided to have only one child, it’s been a challenge not to “spoil” her.  Don’t get me wrong, we try very hard to ensure Ella is appreciative of what she has but like many families out there we seem to have SO many toys!    She’ll play with a new toy for a couple of days (a week or two if we’re lucky) and then she’ll move onto something else.  I probably should throw most of them away but yet I keep them around with hopes that she’ll play with them again.  In reality most of the toys end up collecting dust.

Product Launch: PYUR – Is it that easy to use and “smart”?

As I always buy clothes for Ella in the off-season for the upcoming season, I had purchased a highly rated snowsuit that had grow with me features from LL Bean thinking we were set for the winter!  I never had any issues with Ella and clothes before so I was set for this winter or so I thought.

When we had our first snow fall, I pulled out the snowsuit when getting ready for school and Ella threw a fit.   (more…)

It’s always a joy to get away from changing diapers but the thought of having your little one toilet trained and using public washrooms makes my stomach turn.  Of course they are not tall enough to squat or do any other acrobatic maneuvers to avoid touching the seat so there were two options; either I pack a full kit of cleaning supplies and clean every public washroom we visit out there or find something to protects Ella from sitting directly on the toilet seat.  After some research, I decided to try the Neat Solutions Potty Toppers and Potty Cover.  Different from the toilet seat covers that sometimes comes provided in public washrooms, these covers have a coating on the top to prevents any left over drips or residue from soaking through to the top.   (more…)
